Information was released via the news media that certain
municipalities do not maintain, repair or replace fire
hydrants on privately owned property. We offer the
following services for fire hydrants -
inspections, annual maintenance, repairs and replacements.
Our annual maintenance package includes the following services per
the AWWA (American Water Works Association) standards:
1) Hydrant flushing and draining.
2) Exercise the valve to prevent the disks on the bottom of
the hydrant from freezing up. Greasing to ensure
the cap comes off easily when needed.
3) Touch up painting or painting of fire hydrants
per city standards.
4) Locating and exposing the D-box so that if a future problem
arises the hydrant can be shut off until repaired or replaced.
5) Apply reflective tape at the break away flange for high
visibility at night so the fire department can locate hydrants
quickly in an emergency.
6) Advise of any work that needs to be done.
